15:00 Start of the Absheron Peninsula Tour
We will visit natural, historical and architectural monuments on Absheron (within a radius of 50 km away from Baku)
“Ateshgah” – the temple of fire-worshippers in Surakhani village is one of the signs of the existence of Zoroastrianism in the ancient Azerbaijan.
“Gala” – the Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Complex. Artefacts from the period between 3rd millennium BC and 20th century AD are stored here.
“Yanar Dag” – the place where natural burning gas comes out of the ground caused by tectonic clashed. It is located in Mamedli village. Yanar Dag was mentioned in the ancient historical books since 5th century.

Museum of Petroglyphs – Gobustan or by other name Museum of Petroglyphs located approximately 65 km from Baku. In mountains of Gobustan Beyukdash, Kichikdash, Djingirdag and Shighgaya there were concentrated witnesses of the past of azerbaijanian nation of the epoch of Stone Age and ongoing periods – rocky paintings, camp of man, tombstones and etc. The most significant of them are rocky pictures – petroglyphs, carved by primitive men on walls of caves, rocks and stony lumps. The aforesaid primitive monuments of art reflect culture, economy, world outlook, customs and traditions of ancient azerbaijanian peoples.

The village of Lahich was built in the 5th century B.C. on the canyon of the river Girdimanchai. The village is small, but very picturesque. The territory is recognized as a cultural reserve and is a popular tourist destination on the Great Silk Road. Lahich has preserved its trade and craft center up to now. Copper, leather and carpet crafts are still flourishing.

After breakfast Tbilisi sightseeing program.
Our first destination is the Metekhi church (13th century). We can enjoy breathtaking views of the Old Town from this place. We continue walking to the Synagogue and then visit two important Georgian churches – Soini Cathedral (6th-7th. centuries) with its beautiful bell towers, mural paintings and the oldest church of Tbilisi – Anchiskhati (6th century). Afterwards we drive up to get panoramic view of the whole city and walk down to the Narikala Fortress (4th century). The smell of sulfur gets stronger and we approach Sulfur Baths, which delighted Dumas, Pushkin, Lermontov and etc. Old Town, where is a mosque, synagogue and Eastern and Oriental Orthodox churches can all be found within less than 500 meters (1,600 ft.) from each other. Walking through the main walking street Sharden together with its parallel Bambis Rigi and Rkinis Rigi ” and Erekle II a little further north – narrow pedestrian streets, with a mixture of European and Asian architecture, full of cozy cafes, bars, restaurants, picture galleries and clubs, one of the most common places for nightlife.

After Lunch drive to Mtskheta. We visit the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia – Mtskheta (3000 years old) and see its historical places: Jvari church (6th century) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) where the Robe of Christ is buried. Both Jvari and Svetitskhoveli are UNESCO World Heritage sites;

Transfer to Kazbegi, on the way visit Ananuri Castle and Jinvali water reservoir.

Afterwards drive to Gergeti trinity church. We will take jeeps to rich the church. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri, at an elevation of 2170 meters (7120 feet), under Mount Kazbek. The Gergeti Trinity Church was built in the 14th century.

Kutaisi is the second largest city of Georgia, founded about 40 centuries ago, former capital of the west Georgian Kingdom Colchis, to which is related the myth of Golden Fleece and Argonauts. In Kutaisi we will visit Bagrati Temple (11th c. UNESCO heritage) and main sights of the city.

Drive to highest village in Europe – Ushguli, in bottom of mountain Shkhara – 5068 meters above the sea level. The village is listed by UNESCO as world heritage site. Visit ancient Svan house, church Lamaria, museum of icons.
After lunch in Café in Ushguli we return to Mestia.
